Finding Neighbors Who Can Help

Making Use of Collaborative Maps

In a crisis, how do you find people nearby who can help? I started a map for SEHI to find others in their area committed to finding a way out. You can put your marker on your current location, or a public space nearby in your town if you don't feel safe giving your exact place. We can use this to start building the local structures we'll need. Contact your neighbors and start talking about how you can work together.

 To add yourself, click the edit button next to the map title in the sidebar. A little balloon icon will appear at the top of the map, between a hand and a jagged line. Click the balloon, then drag it to your location. You can include a link to your SEHI profile in theplacemark description so other people can find out more about you.

    Not sure I\\\'ll be discovering too many neighbours I don\\\'t already know about on Santa Maria island, but have added my details. Might be useful for the New Pony Express network or any number of other purposes. Good work, cheers :)

    I really don't think that giving your location is always the best idea, but maybe you cam pose the question as where do you think is a good community gathering area? Places to gather for things like concerts, carnivals, fireworks (for the 4th of July) and any other holidays. Have people mark those places on the map.
