Notes to myself

Dinner ain't quite what it used to be
joelfirenze

Food prices have skyrocketed ever since the various countries imposed their export embargo. My family had just enough from last week's stockpile of food bought at the last minute. Rationing has been put into full effect, and emergency laws had been passed, curfews and all, to impose some semblance of order ever since the massive food riots just some weeks ago.

They said we have some national stockpile somewhere on some remote island, but reports have been sketchy. There has been some national information lockdown, and its been increasingly difficult to access the outside world.

Things have also been silent about the some National Vertical Farm - these areas have been off-limits to visitor.

I have been able to use my privileges quite a bit, and I have had reliable contact still with my superiors. They tell me that they confirm the existence of the Vert Farms, so that's really comforting. I'll have get my family out of here soon though. The uncertainties are too much to handle...

We will get serious, SERIOUS trouble when the Saudi start hearing of the export-blockades everywhere. The middle east is already hurting and falling apart, if their food imports dry up they\\\'ll start declaring their own export boycotts. This will surely cause sabre rattling very soon, probably both sides of the discussion engaging in some false flag terrorism. I still say it was the Canadian skinheads that were behind that isotope bomb that went off in Riyadh.

I remember reading about Vertical Farms years ago - but the uptake was so limited and slow due to cost. All our National Goverments must have seen this crisis coming - I wonder if there have been more of them built than any of us realise? Speaking of Vertical Farms - is now the time to work together to try and build them on a massive scale?

It seems the entire world is in complete upheaval. I\\\'m over in Israel in this mid-eastern crisis. The last few years with the technological breakthrough\\\'s in hydroponic\\\'s we have seen an increase in farm\\\'s starting off the coast. This has been an area of conflict for thousands of years so we are possibly less affected by the current events, even prepared for them. The disarming of Iran by the Chinese was a real break through that semi-stabilized the region. We have more than most been affected by the rising sea levels as Israel is hanging onto such a small amount of land even less of it arable. The H2O Bubbles seem to be functioning in preliminarily test\\\'s.
