Tonight I got woken up about half an hour ago to a phone call from the other side of the world. It was urgent -- many of the shipping vessels scheduled to depart from our port in Fuzhou have been held up due to threats of piracy en route to Taiwan and Singapore. There are ships lying at anchor of Fuzhou and the terminal's general manager wanted to know what I thought should be done next.     It sounds to me like you need to change the hierarchical structure of the organisations you\\\'ve inherited. If specialisation is for insects, then collaboration is for humans. Get some help and take the load off yourself - you can\\\'t do it all, and you don\\\'t sound like you really want to anyway. Why not consider creating a Superstruct to run your companies as well as helping to ameliorate some of the Superthreats with the skills and resources now at your disposal?

    Seems as if part of the solution is to use analog navigational back-ups and travel in convoys when possible.
