Can Government save us?

An Address from an Elected Leader

The day I was elected to the legislature was the proudest of my life. Little did I know theproblems we would soon face in my state and the world. As the Superthreats rise, more and more people are looking to me for answers. I wish I had them.

On the floor of the Senate I give speeches about working together and trusting your neighbor to help you. 

At home we stockpile canned goods and and ammunition.

In Committee meetings we talk about accepting refugees as being the Patriotic thing to do.

At home I have installed a solar powered security system.

I sponsered a bill allowing for the building of a new Natural Gas Pipeline.

At Home I have converted to a bio mass fired furnace with a small generator attached.

Am I a hippocrit because all day I try to convince people that government can save them and all night I prepare myself for the day government fails? I dont think so. In fact I am writing this so that I may come "out of the closet" so to speak. I can no longer hide my feelings about this crises.

My fellow citizens. Your governement has failed you. I have failed you. But all is not lost! There is still time. I urge all of you to follow my lead. Prepare yourselves for the worst and work with me to prevent it. Stay close to your friends and family. Prepare unused barns and warehouses to store food and to shelter the homeless.

Later today I will be introducing SB 79843 to provide emergency grants to anyone working to provide group relief. If you are planting a garden that can feed more than your family you are eligible. If you prepare a room for a refugee you are eligible. If you help install community solar panels you are eligible.

Now is the time to join together. The can do spirit that brought pioneers to this area will see us through this crises and well past the so called end date for humanity.

    Heh. Why bother applying for grants of government money when government is on the edge of failure? Do you honestly think that people will hand over vital supplies (food, water) or equipment (power sources, guns) for what will then essentially amount to green pieces of paper with decent design work on them?
