BREAKING NEWS: Participation Bandwidth Strained! GEAS recommends a Top 3 Superstructure strategy

Senior participation architects at GEAS advise SEHIs to consolidate and declare their top 3 superstructures.

News release – October 28, 2019 - GENEVA

GEAS officials warn that the escalating superthreats are straining participation bandwidth.

Senior participation architect Javed Ahktar said at a morning press conference, "There are limits to how engaged individuals can be with collective problem-solving efforts, when they're struggling just to carry on their own lives in a time of crisis. We need to make better use of this precious participation resource."

GEAS is therefore officially advising all SEHIs to consolidate their superstructing efforts by declaring their top 3 superstructures. "After declaring their top three, SEHIs should attempt to fold other, under-developed superstructures into their larger plans. Superstructure files can be updated with links to these new 'parent' or partner superstructures."

This advisory is based on the results of ongoing GEAS participation simulators, which predict that increased diffusion of engagement across too many superstructures will undermine survivability efforts. These simulators measure and forecast both overall participation bandwidth available to solve a given problem, and the impacts of bandwidth diffusion across multiple competing mass collaboration efforts.

"Continued SEHI enrollment will help alleviate some of the strain," participation architect Pane Fargo added, noting that on average 100 new SEHIs join daily. "But all SEHIs will need to focus their participation efforts in the final weeks of our Superstruct experiment."

GEAS CALL TO ACTION: SEHIs are encouraged to use this space to declare and link to their top 3 superstuctures. If you can collapse or combine one of your superstructures with another top 3 superstructure, make the appropriate Superstructure edits -- and then publish a story explaining what you've done.

My top three, in order: Augmented University (http://is.gd/580R) is what I am most (and least!) qualified to work on. My Urban Homestead (http://is.gd/59dn) is my attempt to get 1, then 10, then 100, then 1000 urban dwellers to begin producing food. Still near and dear to my heart is Super-infra-struct (http://is.gd/59aN)--I'm limiting my time on this struct, but I will cheerfully share ideas and brainstorming with anyone interested.

Mine would be 1. Complementarism (SuperstructView/369) which tries to identify feedback loops that prevent rather than cause threat cascades. It already covers three others (Power Sharing, New Lamps for Old, Solar For Soy) 2. Seeing the Forest for the Trees, under whose hood my head is currently (SuperstructView/297) 3. Rook Parliament (SuperstructView/128), which has been neglected, but has a few similar links

S3DBers, Augmented University, and CloudShapers really connect well with Parallaxic Communities(PC). PC uses arts and creativity to shape culture locally and then to assist and receive virtual assistance. Augmented university provides assistance to quarantined areas. Cloudshapers convert data into visuals which is the PC aim --to see from new angles and perspectives. S3DBers use interdisciplinary teams to problem solve. The PC model uses teams to work through issues using the arts. Sometime trying to merge superstructures homogenizes. If we imagine superstructures as threads of a thick rope, each with it's particular task, but drawing strength from each other, I believe we'll be better off. What we need is the technology to tag across the strands seamlessly.
