  • Who We Need
    What we need are people to search through the superstructs others are creating, looking for ways to work together, and then get the parties in contact with each other. A simple enough task, but one that calls for good information sorting and communication skills.
  • How to join

    Simple. Tell me two superstructs you have found that could collaborate, and how you got them in contact with each other. You should not be a founding member of either superstruct: the idea is to get others linked together.

    I'm turning off moderation, since it seems buggy, but I'd still appreciate it if you would post the facilitations you make to this page with your name, so we can give you props.

  • Mission

    People working on actively building their superstructs don't neccessarily have the time to keep up with what others are doing. This can lead to duplication of effort, or missed opportunities for collaboration.

    However, some people's skill lies not in making new structures, but new connections. We can prevent duplication of effort and missed opportunity to collaborate by actively  searching for connections between the superstructs people are creating. 

     Our goal is to search through the superstructs being created, and find ways in which we can connect them to each other. Then we act to put the groups in contact with each other. If two people are working to solve the same problem, we can get them working together. If one person has a problem that someone else has solved, we can make sure they know. Perhaps two structs each have half a good idea, we'll get them together to make the whole one. 

  • What we can accomplish

    • Here's an examples: Seed Sharers needed a good method of transporting the seeds between sharers. The New pony express is setting up a parralell Postal system, and are looking for clients. Both are busy building their superstructs and don\'t have time to look through the lists, and so don\'t know each other exist. A facilitator exists to fix this by contacting each party and pointing out the existence of the other.

      Putting superstructs into contact with eachother means looking at what they have in common and identifying mash-up opportunities. One example: The people working on the Ravenous issue can develop a merged superstruct on local and global agro-education initiatives. One early area of overlap in existing superstructs is a solution that identifies the need for:  Research, development and implemention of new methods of sustainable agriculture. By merging together the superstructs Operation Good Earth, Food diversity, The Open Source SeedCollab Lab, and The International Agricultural Production and Education Foundation participating SEHIs would be able to develop a collaborative solution based on their common visions.  

  • How this superstruct works

    • You look through the superstructs forming, and the Sehi lists, and try link up people and groups.

      As lists get larger, this has the potential to become a full-time task. Collaborators could wind up spending significant time looking for people to collaborate, consuming time that could be spent solving problems. Facilitators can solve this problem by searching for collaboration opportunites for others so that they can get down to business.

      Getting people linked to your own projects is nice, but the real purpose of this group is to get two or more other people or projects together.

       

      Input: time to search the site for people to link. Site access. Unlinked superstructs. 

      Output: Linked superstructs, new collaborative efforts.
