Starting a superstructure is only the beginning. The real task is envisioning what it can do, how it will work, and who you need to work with. If you're not a member, consider joining now. If you are a member, be bold, jump in, and use the superstructure to start organizing for survival. Edit it, add to the vision, and make it real, online and off. And don't forget to rave.

  • Who We Need

Skills/Talents: Outdoorsmen, Scouts, Survialists, People good at orienteering,

Equipement for finding caches: GPS, Compass, Maps, Radio (to communicate co-ords),

Equipment/Supplies for Caches: Pens/Paper, emergency supplies i.e. non-perishable food, emergency medkit and shelter, batteries, radios, flares, things like patch kits for clothes and other misc. supplies

  • How to join
For members, what would be good is perhaps a more detailed lists of supplies, (Perhaps a standardized list? or lists customized to certain areas) Methods for communicating co-ordinates securely, and perhaps a rough plan for the distribution of caches across an area (Example; how many many per acre? hectare? more per certain areas? a certain combination of landmarks they could be assiocated with?)
  • Mission

I apoligise if this has been done already, I did do a search and nothing turned up, but you never know. Anyway, for those who don't know, Geocaching is a mix between orienteering and a treasure hunt. The idea is that you leave a container, usually weatherproof at a certain location and record the geographical co-oridinates, often by using a GPS. You then give those co-ords out to other people who use them to find your container, or "Cache". The Idea behind this Superstruct is to create a network of caches and drop points throughtout large areas, and using them to store things like information, reports and emerhency supplies. They could be especially useful in cases where face to face contact is undesirable, because the co-ordinates could be transmitted to either party, enabling them to maintain distance.

Another Term assiocated with Geocaching is "Letterboxing" which is similar, but instead of using co-ordinates, you use a combination of directions and landmarks, often in the form of a riddle. The upside to this is that very little technology is needed, as in the future, the GPS sattelites may be compromised, no-operational.

    • This sort of cache system would be suitable for many other Superstructs I have read about, as it could be used for numerous applications, from transferring messages without direct contact, secure long term storage, and supporting a network of isolated communities. If you wish to colloborate, just send me a Private message, and we'll see what we can do
