  • Who We Need
    We need anyone with a green thumb willing to pitch in and help.  We also need people in urban areas to help get these gardens set up.

  • Mission
    This organization will provide information, teaching and local help for establishing victory gardens (or urban gardens) in the world's cities.  Victory gardens are able to create a lot of food in very small spaces and can provide food for whole blocks of people while using a minimal amount of space.  A 50 square foot garden can prodive over 100lbs of food a week.
  • What we can accomplish

    • The world's cities are what have caused the agro-industrial complex to grow and have wreaked havoc on the world's food markets.  One of the fundamental ways to combat this is to start growing food locally.  This might seem like a tall order for those of us living in cities like New York, Tokyo or San Francisco, but all of these cities have good climates for growing a variety of different fruits and vegetables.

      Victory gardens are highly effective in providing food without importing or expending a ton of energy.  It is something anyone with a little time and energy can do and they can be made anywhere people live in large cities.  So, get together with your neighbors and create one.  We will be here to offer tips, help organize you find people in your communities to partner with and share the stories of your success.

    • Starting an urban garden can be quite a daunting task for someone who hasn't done it before. To ensure rapid adoption, how about a wiki/how-to with step-by-step instructions for each climate / soil type coupled with local distribution centers where basic materials, seeds, critter fences... would be available.
