Starting a superstructure is only the beginning. The real task is envisioning what it can do, how it will work, and who you need to work with. If you're not a member, consider joining now. If you are a member, be bold, jump in, and use the superstructure to start organizing for survival. Edit it, add to the vision, and make it real, online and off. And don't forget to rave.

  • Who We Need
    • Inexpensive options for temporary and long-term housing.  Though we will utilize a system of shared-housing, the sheer numbers of refugees expected will necessitate other options.
    • Experts in the raising of flocks.  Primarily sheep as they are the most viable option in the mountains of Northern Arizona, with the lowest environmental impact, and the highest yield of useable materials-- both edible and otherwise.
    • Fuel-free transportation.  We will rely heavily on both bicycles and horses for our outreach program.
    • Communication.  We must be able to inform nomadic refugees of the options available to them.  We must also consider the very real possibility of the illiteracy of the much of the populace prior to their arrival.
    • Medical expertise.  Even if its is simply the transimission of information about critical medical situations (like ReDS), this information is vital to our community.  Potential community members must be medically cleared before they are allowed to enter the community in order to protect the community as a whole.  This is part of our responsibility to eachother.

  • How to join

    Contribute.

Here at Flag Mountain contribution is not optional.  You must be willing to take responsibility for more than just yourself.  Selflessness is more than a virtue here-- it is required for survival.  So tell us, what can you do for your community?  The more unique your ability, the more useful you may be, but our primary concern is not individuality, it is your willingness to provide for others.

Tell us what you bring to the community.  How you will help.  In affect, tell us WHO you will be for society.

  • Mission
We are attempting to create practices of community cooperation that will facilitate the adoption of immigrants into a long-term community.  To do this we will rely on the educational resources availble in Flagstaff to return to small scale farming, herding, and age-old practices of textile production.  Our ultimate goal is not simply to sustain our own community, or to aid refugees, but to create a community where refugees cease to be refugees and become integral members of a thriving  society.  We will actively seek out refugees to join our community.  We will also encourage the development of a non-monetary economy that is instead based on the exchange of goods and services.  Finally, ours will be a community of education.  Our community members will take responsibility for the education of each and every person that lives within our society.
  • What we can accomplish
    • We can reduce the number if refugees roaming the  United States and Mexico.  We have the ability to provide real change for individuals and families who are wandering, struggling to survive.  We can create a community without economic and racial divisions.  But we must be willing to look past ourselves, we must be willing to live for our neighbors, and they for us.

Are you ready?  Can you give up ambition for the peaceable survival of the human species?   Can you take food from your own table, water from your own well,  time from your own life, and give it without reservation to someone else?  We can.  We do.  We will.  Join us.

    • Refugee Education Plan:

As the Minister of Education, my job is to teach the students while participating in ensuring the safety of the compound.  Our compound is on alert 24/7 which makes it virtually impossible to teach the children within a classroom setting.  My job consists primarily on my ability to travel to where my students are.  My students are productive members in the compound and the safety of the compound is their number one responsibility and priority.  To teach my students I must think outside of the box.  I must teach them in our present situation which may not be necessarily safe but then again, nothing is safe now.  I am the only one that can teach them because all the other members of the compound are busy with finding new ways of preventing the ReDS virus from killing us off.

We live in isolation but we are aware of what is happening around us.  We seek refugees. Many of our refugees have children who do not know what is happening around them and it is my job to tell them.  I explain to them the conditions and ways to ensure their survival and together we learn how to be fighters.  I teach them of the past and how life used to be very different.  I tell them that one day we will be able to go back to the simple ways of life.  I teach about hope, pride and determination.  My students are the next generation and it is my duty to teach them not to make the same mistakes that my generation made.  We will find a solution.  We will be strong. We will save the earth and her inhabitants.  We may be small compared to others but we will persevere. This is what I teach to my students.

As we continue to live in isolation, my job adapts to the present situations facing the compound.  I teach the students the basics that they may need to combat the present situations.  I teach the codes or messages of the members so they may also be prepared in case of an emergency.  My students are aware that life on Earth may end at any second.  I teach them not to fear but to hope for an end to ReDS.  I teach survival skills for what is more important at a time like this.  All that I hope for them to learn is how to survive.
